Makeup is for self-improvement. If a guy wants to enhance part of his facial features by using makeup I'm all for it.Makeup isn't just a female beautifier. And using makeup doesn't mean the guy is gay. In my opinion it is a statement that he is trying to look his best or better.

You know, my boyfriend (24 with a good, professional job) wears tinted moisturizer everyday. It reallys works well to even out his skin tones and I think it's awesome that he wears it. He really does improve his appearance in a very subtle way. He has worn eyeliner in the past and it looks fantastic!

I would recommend that you try some tinted moisturizer from Smashbox (I buy mine at Sephora or sephora.com). They also have a matching concealer. As for eyeliner, my favorite (and I've tried lots) is the 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil by Urban Decay (Sephora or urbandecay.com). It goes on easily and really lasts.

I think the most important thing is just to make sure that he knows the proper way to apply the makeup. Inexperience and poor knowledge of makeup is usually the reason it looks bad on guys.

Also, you shouldn't MAKE him wear it, but do ask him to at least try it to see how it looks beforehand. Warm him up the the idea and I bet he'll come around.

Well actors and other male celebrities always have some make up on camera, but it's not that much. It's usually just some loose powder or something.. so that they have a good finish in front of the camera. Eyeliner is unacceptable. Liquid foundation?... No. If there are dark circles or lines under the eyes, may be a little liquid foundation or concealer is okay. But it should really be low key. When it isn't low key, it just looks wrong. There are specific types of men (I won't say any names) that choose to wear a lot of make up, and it's not wrong because they want to be different; it's wrong because it looks insane!

I think it is just fine for men to wear makeup, to a point. Women wear makeup to feel better about how they look, why should't men have the same privilege. I am an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay and if your husband wants to try something to make his skin smoother, he can try a good skin care routine. We typically do appointments in the home so no one has to be out in public trying makeup. Email me if you or he is interested in having an at home skin care and makeup appointment at lightw8@sbcglobal.net

I have never really thought about it like that before. But if I was going to a prom and my guy used some conceler to cover up a zit ot dark circles, i think I would be happy cuz the pics would look perfect. But I also guess that a guy would need help applying make-up correctly, I would help my guy.

I have always noticed when guys wear makeup. One guy I used to work with wore 'a little' concealer amd powder and I noticed it right away. But whatever..if you don't mind that some women will notice then go for it pretty boy!

that's a big NO! it's only ok for the guy to wear makeup when he is a rockstar or singer and has to appear to live shows. i like a bit of eye pencil on the guy, but only when he is a rockstar!

A lot of men wear makeup in prison. Wear it if he wants. If your husband doesn't want to wear makeup and gets mad I don't blame him. How can you make him wear it if he doesn't want to. Maybe you have a problem.

it is only ok if the guy is in a play/musical or halloween. Let a girl put on the makeup for plays though.

Well, KISS and Green Day do.

Guys- do whatever you want with makeup- just as long as people can't tell your wearing make up

you know, i don't think so, i just don't think guys should wear any makeup at all. i mean, makeup is for girls-so why should guys wear it? unless, they're punk rockers in a band, then thats different.
2006-04-01 15:40:12 UTC
it really depend's on his style one of my guy straight friends use to wear black eye liner but he was also a punk rocker.most girls i know find guys with quite a rugged face witha few acne scars more attractive anyways. it shows that they are normal just like us!!!!
