Eyeshadow color for asians?

hey..i'm young and i just started having an interest in mixing eyeshadow colors like this youtube user does here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc_yfOa4t8Q&feature=channel

except, i dont' know which colors will look ridiculous and not doable on me..

i just got mac: steamy and moon's reflection..but my sis told me, asians don't look good in blue..she said lighter colors like, mac: jest, gorgeous gold, or basically something brown, gold will ONLY work..so can i work with blue pink and purple with green? or am i only able to stick with golds and brown?

most Asians look nice in any color, but...

Traditional makeup instructions will tell you to put the next-to-lightest shade on your lid, the medium shade in your crease, the lightest shade on your brow bone to highlight, and then add the darkest color to your outer v. That's not the case with Asian eye makeup tips.



If you start out with the darkest color near your lash line and work your way up in a gradient that ends with the highlight color just under your brows, you'll add much more sophistication to your look than attempting to add dark color to a crease that isn't there. The look will be smoother and sexier. You can then finish with your dark liner and mascara.



One other placement suggestion is to place a light highlight color on your inner lid, closest to your nose, fade over into a slightly darker shade, then to a darker shade on your outer lid. In this case, there would be no need for a darker crease shade. You would, however, still want to apply a highlight color to your brow bone.

To really make your eyes pop use a jet black dark eye liner first then use a pale pink or gold/rust colors for the eyeshadow to really accent your eyes.



Adding a sparkle shade here and there is good too.

Hmm, I love mixing eyeshadow colors, it's really cute on every girl too!

Well, never mind what others think though, it really depends on what color you think looks good on you!

I think light blue and hot pink mixed in together looks good on me!

I don't use eyeshadow much, but that's what I use when I put them on. But I use eyeliner almost everyday! maybe put both eyeliner and eyeshadow, so as if you don't like your eyeshadow colors, then the eyeliner could help catch the attention. (;
