GIRLS:When did you start wearing makeup...?

I am 12 and going into 7th grade... when should I start wearing makeup and how should I tell my mom that I want to start wearing it???

Well first my mom took me to get a consoltation at Clinique (or any beauty counter-a consoltation is where they do your makeup for you and show you how to put it on) It was a great choice because I bought everything and use it everyday and know exactly how to apply it! It totally helped!



You could just say to your mom Hey mom could I go get a consoltation or something like that. Im sure she knows what it is and if she isnt against you wearing makeup at this age would most likely agree! Best of wishes!

Yeah 13 is totally ok, its completely average. Its cool that even though you could wear makeup you didnt go over the top with it. Keeping it simple looks best in my opinion. I started experimenting with my moms old makeup when I was 7 or 8 but it was just for fun. I actually seriously started to wear it out when I was...11 or 12 and Im 14 now. Just because you wear makeup early doesnt mean you end up wearing oober thick and goth. The most I do is black eyeliner, light layer of mascara, clear lipgloss, and some sort of eyeshadow. My favs are gold, silver, brown and purple.

When i was like 12 I pinched my mums Dior makeup and used that... which got me by for half a year, I decided enough was enough and just bought m own. My collection has grown hugely as well as my knowledge on makeup :) everyone has to start some where and if you want to wear makeup i hope your mum will respect that xx

just dont start off too cakey or too heavy, dont make your mum feel like youve taken advantage of makeup and are changing into someone completely different. I didnt even ask my mum jusr went for it and she couldnt really make me return opened makeup.... so yeah :)

Start wearing it whenever you feel uncomfortable about yourself and you are feeling ready! Don't rush into it thinking that because loads of other people wear it, that means you have to too. Nope. Do you know Jamie Curry, JamiesWorld on YouTube and Facebook? She has honestly barely any idea how makeup works, and I think shes left school now. So just because everyone else is, doesn't mean you have to too.

I started wearing makeup when I was 14, then after a year it got out of hand and I regret how much I used to wear, I was mainly picked on about it, but I ignored everyone. I used to wear black eyeliner all around my eyes and people called me coal eyes and everything... yeah..

So basically, I started when I was 14, don't feel you need to because others are, and yeah! Good luck!

i am about to go to 7th grade too and i am 12 too and i love makeup. I weared it like for 5 days and then stoped because i was using my moms makeup and she was getting mad. So if i were you i wouldnt wear makeup till the end of the 7th grade

Mama started allowing me to wear makeup when I was in the 6th grade. I wore base, powder, blush,light pink eyeshadow and mascara. It was so light that you really couldn't tell, but she allowed me to wear it to try and stop breakouts. In fact, I received my makeup on my birthday my 6th grade year.



I just came out and asked if I could wear it. My friends were wearing a little makeup and gloss, so I asked if I could have some for my birthday. The 7th grade? Sure, why not!? Just tell her you'd really like to start wearing it and hope for the best.

i was in the seventh grade when i started wearing makeup. First i just started out with really light, and i didn't wear much but as i got older i started putting on more stuff like eye shadow and mascara. I think if you really want to start wearing make up just ask her. Make sure you tell her your reasons why to like for example tell her all the girls in school are wearing make up to. i think 9th grade is probably the best time to wear makeup because untl high school you really shouldnt care about boyfriends and all that i mean seriously! but since everyone else wears makeup in middle school (a lot of them putting it on wrong and looking like little whores) then go ahead. just learn how to put it on right without looking like a clown, and then your mom shouldn't have a big problem with it. It's your face.

I started lightly wearing make-up around 7th grade.



Now I'm going into 9th grade and wear it a little darker. Just know that if you wear your make-up super dark and "out there" at your age, you will get made fun of (even if you don't know it) by older kids. I hear kids getting made fun of all the time for looking like a clown. Be careful!

You shouldn't start wearing that much makeup like foundation. Why don't you try a little blush maybe some powder. Just remember to be simple because that is when it looks best. Just tell her you want to wear a little blush and then go from there.

don't start with too much. go for a little eye liner and maybe some foundation and if need bronzer. i would start by telling my mom i wanted to wear eye liner or some eye shadows because i was going for a different look. your mom will let you because she was once at that age, and she knows its time to let you grow up. in my opinion don't take your make up too far right now. your still really young and you can damage your skin. best of luck(:
