Why do girls wear make-up all the time?

Why do girls wear make-up all the time? I like girls that don't wear make-up. One excuse is that they have something on their face like zit or acne. Girls forget that make-up is for those reasons, yet girls use make-up to supposedly make them look better without anything being wrong with their face.

I think girls wear make-up to initially enhance their appearance, feel grown up, feel socially accepted or just hide something that they consider a, ‘flaw’. Now, I think after a while of seeing yourself look the best you can be anything less is not sufficient. So, seeing yourself NOT in makeup makes you feel literally and figuratively, ‘naked’ or ‘exposed’. I, myself, have tried to not wear make-up and people who HAVE seen me in makeup and then have seen me without it claim that I, “Look tired” or “Sad”. They are so used to seeing me with makeup, that without it I look terrible or, ‘less-enhanced’. It’s very hard to stop wearing makeup. It’s hard to get used to looking at JUST yourself, when your used to seeing, “Super-Glam Self”. Do you get it?

Well, I'm a girl and I try not to wear make-up too much, but without it, I think I look a little 'plain'. I usually just wear eyeliner and mascara and clear lipgloss. When I wear eyeliner and mascara it brings out my eyes, and lipgloss is really good for lips.



So I dont wear make-up unless it's like a special occassion or something of the likes, but seriously, girls wear make-up for self body image. It makes us feel prettier. It's not about anything being wrong with our faces.

It becomes a habit and after seeing oneself in make up regularly, one's face can seem a little plain without it. I've known girls who've gone for extra make up on a night out but then carry in on everyday, then another special occasion comes along and more make up is added to the routine. In an environment where everyone else is wearing it, girls will understandably feel pressure to conform.

The media. It is today's society that surrounds us with these images that we have to live up to. Everyday I have to live life knowing I look like a piece of **** compared to people like Meagan Fox. Obviously a lot of guys are going to think we all have potential to look like that too... and girls try.

Oh they try hard. Honestly, I don't always wear makeup, but I see why some people do. The girls who wear all that makeup are hiding their faces for a reason... maybe people will begin to realize it's not our fault. Because it is just a habit. Drink your morning coffee, get dressed, put on your makeup, etc. It's kinda like when you are a kid and you play dress up. Makeup is something you can do a whole new look with every day. Instinct makes women want to attract the opposite sex, so we use makeup to enhance our features.

I'm a girl, but I don't wear make-up all of the time. I only where make up if I'm going out somewhere nice, or if I do have a spot. All the girls I know who where make up everyday for no reason are all of the 'popular' girls, who tend to get on my nerves!



Plus: My best friend has started wearing make up everyday, and she's not really hanging around with me any more. So, maybe make up everyday effects your brain? lol

well there's a problem.. everyone (well girls.. i suppose drag queens too) wears make up.. we compare our skin to them.. and sometimes you prefer looking in the mirror with unblemished skin and nice brought out eyes..



really.. you'd be more likely to call a girl hot if she's wearing no/minimal make up??? i find that terriblely hard to believe. u must be the only guy like that



as for pimples, i just leave them cause i know they'll go away.. anyway i'm 18 now so i barely get any.

Make up is not necessarily a bad thing. Some girls wear it to boost confidence and enhance their beauty that they already have. If it is worn in good taste and correctly i don't see the big deal to it.

Make-up was created to enhance your features, but you can also create different looks with it. I guess some wear it for fun, others believe they look bad without it. I personally only wear eyeliner and mascara, and a light layer of foundation ONLY if my skin is particularly bad that day.

But girls that pack on mountains of foundation just look like bimbos.

But it's kinda like once you start doing something, you can't stop?

Once you start wearing makeup and seeing what you look like with it on, you feel you don't look as good without it I guess.

I'ma be honest. I do wear makeup. But I don't put a pound of foundation on my face, to look like a cake or a clown. I wear makeup cause I look more awake and fresh faced.

Not all girls do. But those that choose to not wear makeup are usually considered "plain" and unattractive. Very few men will look at a woman that isn't "made up".... ask your friends, if they are honest they will tell you that girls that "paint" their faces are better eyecandy than those that don't.

I wear very little make up - foundation and lip gloss. I wear foundation because my face tends to be VERY red and it helps cover it up. I wear lip gloss because it tastes good! ^.^
