Help with make-up, 17 year old girl?

Hey, I am 17 years old and don't wear any kind of make-up, except for maybe a tiny bit of concealer if I look super tired, or a couple of brushes of mascara but I mainly go natural.
I own a concealer, eye liner (black), mascara (black) and a liquid foundation all of which are the make 'rimmel'.
I would like to start wearing a little bit, just to enhance my features (my friends say I should wear eye make-up as I have really blue eyes)!
However I don't really know what kind of stuff is best, and not sure how to apply it either!
Any help would be great, thanks so much! :) x

Ok you don't need to wear makeup but if you do its easy to make it look natural. Because you have blue eyes don't wear blue eyshadow. Nice brown tones would look good. And pinks. So first off you can buy any type of powder eye shadow. Even from the dollar store. Don't buy liquid eye shadow it tends to get clumpy. If you look up on youtube " natural makeup for blue eyes" you should be able to find something that suits you best. What I do is I take a light shimmery pink. Almost invisible but shiny and brush it over my whole eyelid then take white and do right under my eyebrow. Then I take a darker pink and do the outer half of my lid with a shimmery darker pink. Then take your light pink again and blend them together. Then add mascara and your done :) hope ths helps.

if you don't wear any now you don't want to make it look like you have just been pulled through a drag queens dressing room! a little concealer under the eyes and any spots that you have. if you have blue eyes try silver or a little white on the lower half of the lid and then apply black liner to the inside of the top lid to open up your eyes, then if you feel up to it curl your eye lashes and put some mascara on...

If you have a matte foundation, mix it with a bit of moisturizer or tinted moisturizer in a similar shade to give your skin a dewy finish. If you want a total matte face, then use a foundation that's a matte finish and apply it all over your face, focusing it on the T-zone area (forehead, nose, and chin), as these areas tend to get the most oily. If you have a regular oil free foundation, then just use it on your face after you've applied a moisturizer. Set it with powder, translucent or pressed, all over your face.

For eyes, use a copper shade, or a lighter brown shade on your eyes, applying it all over the lid, and blending it a bit into the creases of your eyes if you want. Then, line your eyes with a dark brown pencil eye liner, on the top lash lines to start with. You can make it as thin or as thick as you want, just make sure to get it close to the lashes first. Then, add a brown mascara to the top lashes. Browns, coppers, and even a navy blue can all make blue eyes stand out. For a nighttime look, just swap out the brown shadow for a gray, and switch the brown liner and mascara for a black or gray (for the liner, that is).

For cheeks, use a bronzer to lightly contour your cheekbones. (make a fish face and apply it to the sucked in parts of your cheeks). A peach blush, or a very light pink blush will look best on you. Apply it to the apples of your cheeks (smile to find them).

For lips, use a peachy pink or a light nude lip gloss.

as for eyeliner apply on the upper lashline. if you have trouble with that you can pull the corner of your eye a bit so it is more flat and easier to apply. dont make the eyeliner look like a hard harsh line though. foundation depending on what kind powder you can just take a brush and buff all over the face, liquid you can use your hands or a sponge and make sure to blend and even it out! if your having trouble you can always go on youtube for help!

I think the less make up people wear the better haha, you should just stay as you are :) But... if you insist...Since I prefer a more natural look to make up my techniques will be to achieve a flawless look not so much as to caking make up on...

Foundation:

Use a primer to begin with, use your concealer to cover up any thing you'd want to hide. Apply a little of the foundation to areas you want the most coverage (most people go for the nose) and blend outwards with a sponge a fingertips (I feel brushes seem to leave bristle marks).

Alternatively (My method)

after using your primer, put just a little more than a pea sized amount of foundation onto your hands, and apply over your face as if you are putting on face cream but a lot of people don't like this way...

Eyeshadow:

You could go for a very simple smokey eye;

Start with a eye-shadow close to your skin colour across the lid, and using a shadow few shades darker blend this onto the outer corner of your lids and into the crease.

Or you could add black pencil eyeliner to the top of you lid, and outer corner of your bottom lash line, using a q-tip or a smudging brush or even your little finger, smudge the liner a little.

Blush:

Use a blusher of pink or red very faintly on the apples of your cheeks, or use a bronzer/contouring powder to put under your cheek bones to make your face appear slimmer. You can use shimmer powders on the higher parts of your cheek bones.

Eyeliner:

Thin liner on the top of your lids as close to your lashes that slightly wing out looks great :) semi close your eyes, and using a mirror, draw on a thin line as close to your lashes as possible you could stop here or extend the line past the outer corner of your eyelids by a cm or so. Using pencil liner you could add eyeliner to your bottom lash line. You could put this all the way across or focus it on the corner.

Mascara:

You know the process ;)

Lips:

Use a lipstick or lipgloss close to your lip colour or a few shades darker. Lipsticks can be best be applied with a lip brush for precision. Line your lips with a matching lip pencil to stop lipstick from bleeding but its not necessary.

What products I use:

Primer: smash box foundation primer and urban decay eye-shadow primer potion

Foundation : Rimmel perfect match foundation or Mac studio sculpt

Eye-shadow pallet: Urban decay Naked

Bronzer/blush: MAC (don't know the shade its a dark browny colour) and Bobbi Brown

Lipstick: Rimmel :) (plum)

Eyeliner: Liquid rimmel glam eyes professional, and avon pencil liner

Mascara: Bare Minerals Flawless

TIP: Instead of using all these tips at once, use a couple at a time (so eyeliner and lipstick or contouring and smokey eye) and mix it up so you don't look overdone :D

For your eyes, stick to beautiful Neutrals, I like Rimmel's quads, and Revlon's quads. I find them really good. Stick to grays, coppers, and beiges. That really make your eyes stand out, and purple makes blue eyes stand out really well. I have rimmel's quad in "Purple Smokey" such pretty colors, and goes on nicely.

For Mascara, I love anything by Maybelline (Except falsies), I like their Lash Stiletto, and I love Lo'real's new one in the gold tube. Great for volume, and length. I usually put lash stiletto on first to add good length, then the lo'real one for some volume

For liner, Elf has pretty good liners, they are dark, and they are only a dollar.

I would also check out elf's brushes, because you are going to be playing for eye shadow, so you need a flat shader brush, crease brush, blending brush, and a liner brush. (All a dollar to 3 dollars.)

For blush, I love CREAMS! They last forever, and blush is the most important step in make-up. My favorite regular powder blushes, are NYX's, and Elf's (Nyx can be found at Ulta, and Elf at Target) For Cream, I love Maybelline's Dream Bouncy Blushes, and Nyx's.

And for Lips, I love LOVE Revlon Lip Butter's, and their new lip stains.

I Hope I helped!

a natural brown eyeshadow will make your eyes stand out

mascara will make them appear bigger, and if you could buy some eyelash curlers, they will make them look even bigger (www.eyeslipsface.com or www.eyeslipsface.co.uk sell them for like £1.50/ $1)

for foundation, buy a brush or sponge to apply it with. Youtube how to apply foundation to see exactly how to do it.

If you have any make up questions, you tube it. Youtube 'guru's' have videos about everything!

It's not big of a deal but it's kind of bad if she's still in high school and you're in college because you two would be in 2 different life stages

I recommend going to Ulta (a make-up store). Companies that sell their products there, set up days for customers to try their products. And most of the time, they'll give you a free makeover. Just visit the store and ask about their schedule. I hope this helps. :)

People say eyeshadow that matches your eye colour is very natrual (sorry for misspelling-touch screen) and foundation, a small amount of eyeliner and mascara would look great my opinion. I hope I helped. (:

go to a counter in the mall and ask a consultant to help you. just tell them exactly what you said here and they can give you a makeover specifically designed for you! you don't have to buy the makeup they used because it can be pricey but you can find similar products for cheaper. they also teach you exactly how to apply it!
