How to stop mascara from smudging so much?

Question

I wear mascara daily and almost everyday after a couple of hours it's all under my eyes. I constantly have to check & try to wipe it off, and I have really dry skin so sometimes it doesn't really wipe off well and I have grey marks left. I use a couple different mascaras, depending on what I can find quickest in the morining, but usually Maybelline The Falsies Flared and I *love* it except for the smudging. I also get smudging when I use Maybelline Telescopic mascara and Great Lash. I've had other brands too but I didn't like them so much. I used to wear waterproof mascara so I could swim with it on after school but that still smudged a little and was then impossible to get off my skin without makeup remover. I try not to touch my eyes at all so I don't know why this keeps happening! If you know why it keeps smudging or if you have any tips for preventing it please share (:

I have falsies too, and it smudges on me too and I never touch my eyes. I don't think it's from your concealer, it's the mascara. :S

Waterproof mascara will help. Use a shield under your eyes while applying mascara. Blink hard several times after applying to remove excess mascara -- the excess mascara will smudge onto the shield. Then let mascara dry before removing the shield. Check out the website below for more information.

i used to have the same problem too.

i use a primer now. you know primer is usually for eyeshadows, but it prevents smudging too. i wear concealer then primer but concealer is purely because i have dark circles, so i'm not entirely sure if it has anything to do with smudging.

it also bases on your mascara

i don't like Maybelline's mascara, seems to me like you've been using Maybelline. i used CoverGirl's lashblast and it NEVER smudged. i bought Maybelline's mascara, the one that comes in a neon pink and green bottle, and it smudges after like an hour !

i also used Make Up Forever, Dior, M.A.C. and Too Faced, and they never smudged either. granted, though they are more high-end brands. but i think it's just Maybelline's formula.

Try wearing a mascara primer. Apply a mascara primer and then promptly apply any mascara. The primer will hold the mascara in place, all day and prevents smudging!

If u don't touch ur eyes it shouldn't smudge that much, so I don't know. For getting it off though vasileline works really good for me! Hope I helped with the getting it off part but I don't know about the smudging sorry!
