I want to wear makeup but I look weird when I do?

I am fourteen and I am about to go in to the 9th grade and I really wanna start wearing makeup. My dad supports my wearing makeup and my mom passed away when I was little so I don t have anyone else to ask.

One problem I have is my skin. When I try to apply foundation or anything like that it looks so powdery and you can see all the peach fuzz. My forehead is really weird, it s very dry but it s shiny some days at the same time. If I pluck my eyebrows my forehead will stay red and irritated for a long tme. And when I touch my forehead it feels real bumpy. I use moisterizer and an exfoliating scrub every morning and nothing so far has changed. So it there any certain moisturizer or anything you would recommend to even out my forehead? Or anything to help all the peach fuzz?

Now with eyeliner and mascara I feel like I look bad in it. When I put eyeliner on it doesn t look pretty like most of my friends. It looks like I have too much on. Do I look for a softer pencil? Do I apply it to my waterline instead? And with mascara one of my eyes don t stay up like the other one or always looks clumped bc the other one is so easy to get flipped up and stays like that alllll day while the other one just goes completely flat even when I use the clamper.

That s really all I can think of but if you have any makeup product that s been working really well for you please please comment. Also please don t comment if your gonna be rude to me please.

First off, you have the right idea for your skin, exfoliating and moisturizing. It could also be possible that you're exfoliating too much. Try exfoliating 1-3 times a week instead, and opt for just cleaning your face at least once a day, or ideally, every morning and night. You can also try using a skin toner in the mornings instead. Pour a bit onto a cotton ball and then sweep it across your skin in upward strokes. Toner will help clear away the dirt and oil without the drying effects that can be the result of too much exfoliation. Keep moisturizing every day and night as well.

For your makeup, try to shy away from your foundation. Opt instead for a concealer and maybe a BB cream (tinted moisturizer). Squeeze out a dollop of the tinted moisturizer into your palm and gently rub it on your face to lightly even out your skin tone. Then, if you have any visible blemishes that you would like to cover up, take your concealer and put a dot of the formula onto each imperfection. Remember that less is more! Concealer is so pigmented that you don't need very much. Then dab at it (don't rub) until the concealer has blended into your skin and the blemish is no longer visible. Also remember to work in very light layers. Don't cake on the product. If desired, finish off with a light dusting of translucent powder. This will set your makeup for the day. You mentioned dryness, so you could also opt for a setting spray or just skip this step entirely. If your makeup does not slide around your face, this step is not an essential.

You really don't need eyeliner. Although if you must, stick with a pencil and practice as much as you can. Look up YouTube videos and instructions on how to apply. Eyeliner is probably the trickiest of all makeup to apply, and if not done properly, can result in a very undesired look. Once you've mastered the pencil, you can try liquids and gels. Just apply a subtle line to your upper lash line, and to make the look softer, take a cotton swab and gently rub at the line to smudge it a bit.

Now for your mascara, take the wand from the tube and bring it to the base of your lashes, as close to your lid as you can get. Using a zigzag motion, wiggle your wand back and forth, bringing the mascara to the tips of your lashes. If desired, wait a minute, and then apply a second coat. To lessen the dramatic look, apply only to your upper lashes.

I don't believe that you mentioned anything for your lips, but you can also apply a tinted lip balm and/or a lip gloss. It's a super quick, easy way to finish off your look, and an affordable way to update your makeup collection.

Remember that you're wearing makeup for yourself and not for everyone else. I'm sure you're beautiful with or without makeup. Good luck! <3

At 14 a little make up is fine but you don't need a "full face"

A little mascara, and maybe a natural color for lipstick, or a lip stain.

I don't wear makeup on a reuglar basis so I am no expert, but make-up will make your peach fuzz stand out more.

My advise; add a prime and don't use foundation.

I also advise you Go into a makeup store and ask them. I'm sure they will be happy to give you a hand.
