When choosing an eyeliner, choose one to achieve the effect you are wanting. For a more defined eye area, a liquid eyeliner is very good at this. For a more subtle and soft look, a pencil eyeliner or even lining the eyes with a darker shade of eyeshadow will do the trick.
AVON Glimmersticks are an excellent product. They are creamy and are retractable and are very easy to use. As for matching your eyes....Since your eyes are brown, I would suggest using a Chocolate Brown color with a Brown/Black Mascara to carry over that look that you are wanting to achieve to match your eyes.

I love a dark brown pencil eyeliner. So easy to apply & looks great.
Don't buy a cheap brand pencil though. Cheap brand pencils, like Wet & Wild or those pencils that only cost $1.00, are too hard and don't go on easy, sometimes they even hurt. Buy a good brand, like Estee Lauder or Clinique. It is well worth the money.

Hi!
It depends what you're looking for. Personally, I prefer a Dry/pencil eyeliner for everyday wear as they give a softer look to your eyes and don't irritate your skin as much. However, I use a liquid eyeliner for nightwear as it makes your eyes look more dramatic.
I hope this helps!

Well... If you're a starter then go for the Collistar liquid eyeliner (they have it in black and brown), it's very easy to use, especially for beginners.
There's also the Lancome artliner (which I use) that's very good and has an original brush that glides easily on your eyes.

I like pencil eyeliner, its easy to use and goes on smooth, revlon eyeliner is my fav. Liquid eyeliner is just to liquidy for me, takes to long to dry.

Liquid on upper lids (be patient when learning to apply, it takes practice!) and pencil on lower lids. To keep lower eyeliner from running, dab a little powder under eyes.

i like pencil eyeliner. it looks more natural and easier to apply. you just have to pick a color that's close to the color of your eyelashes. usually black works great on everyone. but try to go for brown or grey for a softer look.

I prefer liquid because it gives a more defined line. If you are looking for a smokey look, go with pencil. but always keep both on hand for different effects.

PENCIL EYELINER WORKS BEST ON POWDER SHADOWS AND GIVES A MORE SUBTLE LOOK TO THE EYE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MORE BOLD APPROACH USE THE LIQUID IT DEFINES THE EYE MORE AND LOOKS BEST ON SOFT OR LIQUID SHADOWS

It depends on the look you are going for...liquid gives a more defined sophisticated look, whereas penicil gives a more smoky effect

liquid is more accurate but pencil is easier to get off

exactly what cookies said above. Keep them both on hand for different looks, and of course different colors.
