I died my hair and it turned out to dark I have had it in for 5 weeks and it is still not lightening at all. I heard to use the rest of the 20 volume creme developer on my hair and lighten it a little bit? I don't need a lot even just a little bit will be better. I know that I should use alot of conditioner after ward. I have a little bit of color left and it is a redish color I could use a little bit of that but I really don't wanna dye it I want it just lightened and I don't have the money to go get it done or buy new color all of this stuff is left over from the last time I did my hair.
Please help me!

No, you have to mix the developer with a color. The developer on it's own wont do anything to your hair.

Usually, ten is enough because you want your hair darker. If you're undecided, mix both together. Use a 3:1 ratio. 3/4 of 10 volume and 1/4 of 20 volume Then you'll get about a 15 volume. Only do this if it's the same brand of developer.

I don't think you should use 20 volume. Try a 30 volume, like any of the ultra-browns from garnier 100 or the nourishing light browns from garnier nutrisse. That always worked for me!
