You have to find a "match" of the base makeup you are wearing/ or would like to wear, to your skin tone, and then you need to blend it into your neck, past your jaw-line so there is no line.

To "match" a color, test 3 along your jaw-line and blend, choose the one which looks best.

Also there is Winter make-up and Summer make-up, make sure you change you base colors for each season.

Wearing too much makeup is an easy mistake to make, especially if you haven't been taught how to choose the right products and how to apply them properly. Go to your local high-end department store and get a free make-over from Clinique or Estee Lauder or both....even better, if you have a Sephora boutique near you, go there first. Their experts can help you choose the right products for your skin and show you how to apply it correctly.

You need to find a foundation that is closer to your skin tone. If you do not know, then go to the Clinique counter at any department store and have them give you a tip, you do not have to buy their make up, just look for the color close to it in the store. They will usaually rub the foundation on a piece of paper if you ask.

if theres a line... thats because ur NOT using the right shade of foundation! or that u are not blending well.

when your face is a different color than the rest of your skin. when you look like trash or plastic. i'd suggest cutting back a bit because your friends wouldn't be telling you this if it wasnt at least partially true.
